Here are some of my projects from 2019 - 2022
Many of my recent projects aren't represented here because they are not public-facing or they do not have visual artifacts. The items included below should give you a good idea of my project scopes over the last many years.
Instruction Junction - this is a website I built for The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Office of the Dean. It serves as a resource for faculty who don't have access to Instructional Designers in their academic units.
This is a series of 30 minute lightning talks on Inclusive Teaching Practices from 2020 in the middle of Covid lockdown, which I led and organized with the help of Dr. Miki Kittilson and Dr. Linda Luecken in the Dean's Office. We invited faculty and staff from The College and beyond.

I partnered with longtime friend and ID colleague Marisa Ruiz to develop this formula for writing better discussion prompts. We believe that instructors should develop such good asynchronous discussion prompts that students are compelled to collaborate, venture off topic, and create their own meaning by relating what they're learning to their unique experiences. Marisa and I presented on this at OLC Accelerate 2019.

This was a group effort to show EdPlus what IDs do. I designed and presented slides 16 through 22. The before-and-afters show how I make tired, predictable content more relevant to the learner using clear, concise, imperative language.

In 2018, I helped the ASU Online QA manager, Kody Stimpson, consolidate a giant text document into this simple handout, which we now distribute to all faculty who are developing, teaching, or revising courses.

Taskstream Tutorial is an instructional video I created using Camtasia to teach students how to use an online portfolio tool. This was an update to an antiquated video. Rewrote script, created screen recording, and had a colleague record the audio.

Transition Tutorial for UOPX student population (Created in Articulate Storyline, February 2014). It's an interactive learning module viewed by all students transitioning from a ground campus to online (and vice versa). I no longer have access to the source files.
A Brief History of the Fitness Industry created for fun using Articulate Storyline in 2014. It's an interactive learning module using vintage imagery that quizzes viewers' knowledge about how exercise became an American pastime and major industry. I have the source files, but I'm without a copy of Storyline at the moment!

I created this while at UOPX to train colleagues, SMEs, and stakeholders on designing clear, concise, effective presentations. I used it to deliver trainings and to coach colleagues on PPT design standards.
Looking back, it looks rather outdated 🥴, but it was cutting edge back then! Click through the Google Slides using the arrows in the gray footer. Go full screen by clicking the box shape in the footer. |
